Thyme pastries recipe



Recipe for thyme pastries in our easy arab recipes collection.

Recipe ingredients

  • 1/2 quantity basic dough recipe, exclude oil and add 1 teaspoon yeast dissolved in 1/4 cup of water
  • 6 tablespoons thyme, zahtar
  • 1/2 cup olive oil

How to make thyme pastries

  • Set oven at 250 degrees C.
  • Divide dough into rounds.
  • Cover with cloth for 15 minutes.
  • Roll out each round to medium thickness, 8 cm diameter, on floured board.
  • Place rounds on greased baking sheet.
  • Mix zahtar and oil together.
  • Spread mixture evenly over the rounds.
  • Bake for 15 minutes in a moderately hot oven.
  • Serve for breakfast or for a snack.
